Mission: OneJax is an interfaith organization that promotes respect and understanding among people of different religions, races, cultures and beliefs.
Through education, community building and advocacy initiatives, OneJax works to overcome bias, bigotry, and racism.
It is the intention of OneJax to serve as an ethical center among all people to assure that everyone in Northeast Florida is treated with respect and dignity. We want to be the catalyst that will help transform our community into one of peace and understanding...to be truly, Different Together. We can't do it alone—it will take all of us working together. Please join us.
Vision: An inclusive community.
A Proud Tradition of Service in North Florida
Founded in 1970 as the Northeast Florida Chapter of the National Conference for Christians & Jews and then operating as the National Conference for Community & Justice (NCCJ) the local group separated from the National organization and became a Jacksonville-based, independent, nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization in August, 2005.
This move was taken by the Board of Directors to better serve the local northeast Florida community. All funds raised and received stay local and go to support local programs and services. In addition, it allows the organization to create its own agenda to benefit the unique needs of the local community.
In September 2006, we became OneJax to reflect our vision of a united community.
Our commitment to encourage peace, understanding and respect among people of different races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, etc. remains strong and steadfast. We are proud to be creating a new history that will help lead the Northeast Florida community into a future rich in texture and celebrated for its social harmony. We believe that we can truly be Different Together.
